Registered Nurse- Principal, Complaints & Risk Officer

We are seeking an experienced Principal Officer, Complaints & Risk, for a 6 to 12 month locum role who is an experienced Registered Nurse registered with AHPRA for one of our clients in Sydney's Lower North Shore!This role requires the Principal Officer to initiate and apply evidence-based processes and procedures through research and evaluation to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Council’s management of complaints and provides high level professional input to all aspects of the Council’s operations. Providing advice and education about professional standards and cultures to improve safety on behalf of the Council to employers, professional groups, practitioners, and students within NSW. Mandatory RequirementsExtensive experience as an RN who is registered with APHRA as a Division 1 Nurse and/or Midwife or Allied Health Officer with appropriate tertiary education and/or demonstrated equivalent.Up-to-date knowledge of the current clinical practice standards and excellent understanding of contemporary ethical standards.Thorough knowledge of legislative and regulatory framework for health processionals in Australia, the statutory responsibilities and functions of the Council and the management of complaints and notifications in accordance with the Law.Proven experience and capacity to manage complex programs at a senior level in a regulatory or other professional environment.Ability to continuously monitor risks to public safety and make sound judgements about high-risk cases and potentially escalate those to the Medical Director or Council for consideration and immediate action.Capability to manage high volumes of notifications/complaints in a complex environment and meeting the statutory deadlines.Strong technical IT skills in word processing and Excel DesirableExperience in clinical governance and/or complaints management BenefitsSalary PackagingWorking for a Not-for-Profit  AUD Sydney 2000
